HMRC
There’s a new running club in town!  The recently formed Houston Fire
Department HazMat Running Club (HMRC) is rapidly growing as its
members, donning lime green t-shirts, continue to participate in city
sponsored fun runs.  The florescent shirts have been spotted at events like
the Park To Park Run, ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run, and the Bayou City
Classic.  Inspired by the Mayor’s Cup Fitness Challenge, the HMRC decided
to jump on the fitness bandwagon and get into shape.  The club has grown
from a mere two members to nearly thirty members in two short months.
Participants include men and women of all ages and fitness levels.  Family
members are also joining in the festivities as fellow runners, walkers, and
supporters at each event.  Their goal is to participate in every city sponsored
Fun Run between now and 2008.  Then, in January, several runners plan to
attempt their first Houston Marathon (26.2 miles)…
